Josh Caddy (born 28 September 1992) is an Australian rules footballer, drafted by the Gold Coast Football Club with the 7th selection in the 2010 AFL Draft.[1] Caddy was recruited from TAC Cup side Northern Knights[2] where he was captain for the 2010 season.[3]

Early football career
Caddy played his junior career with the Eltham Football Club in Melbourne's Northern Football League before joining the Northern Knights at the age of 15. In his final TAC Cup season he was a standout performer for the Knights in which he earned representative honours as well as All-Australian selection.[4]
Caddy was then drafted by Gold Coast Suns with pick 7 in the 2010 AFL Draft. He is the grandson of former North Melbourne footballer John Reeves and a nephew of another North Melbourne player, Michael Reeves.[5]
AFL career
Gold Coast
In his first season Caddy played the final two games of the season, making his debut in round 23 against Melbourne. After the season there was speculation that Caddy wanted to return to Victoria to play, with Essendon being a possible destination but there was no deal made and he remained at the Gold Coast.
2012 was a much better season for Caddy, playing all 22 matches, and kicking 15 goals. In the round 16 loss to Geelong he was given the round nomination for the 2012 AFL Rising Star.[6]
On the 10 September 2012, the Gold Coast Suns announced that Caddy had quit the club in order to return to Victoria. Football Operations Manager Marcus Ashcroft stated that the club would seek a favourable outcome for the Suns in light of Caddy's departure.[7]
Geelong
On 10 October 2012 an agreement was made that Caddy would be traded to the Geelong Football Club. On 18 October 2012 it was confirmed that Caddy had been traded to Geelong for a Round 1 Compensation Pick (which Geelong received for losing Gary Ablett Jr. to Gold Coast) and pick 55 in the 2012 AFL Draft.[8]
