Wirecard AG (until April 6, 2005: InfoGenie AG) is a global financial services and technology company headquartered in Aschheim, Munich, Germany.
The company mainly provides payment services. One of its subsidiaries is the bank Wirecard Bank AG. It was founded in 1999. The current CEO, Markus Braun, took it over in 2002. Since 2005 Wirecard is quoted on the German stock market.
On several occasions, critical opinions of management policies such as the high price and context of acquisitions, have been put forward.[2][3] These critical reports are backed by detailed arguments, facts and references. The company has always refuted them. While the company is well-regarded by stock market analysts, presented as a "fin tech" and usually given a buy rating, these reports lead the reader into serious questioning of the generally accepted views.
