WBUY-TV, virtual channel 40 (UHF digital channel 41), is a TBN owned-and-operated television station serving Memphis, Tennessee, United States that is licensed to Holly Springs, Mississippi. The station is owned by the Trinity Broadcasting Network. WBUY maintains studios and offices located on Cazassa Road in the southeast section of Memphis, and its transmitter is located near Arlington.

History

The station first signed on the air in September 1991 as an affiliate of HSN (Home Shopping Network); the last three letters of the station's call sign incidentally reflected this affiliation. In 2001, the station was acquired by the Trinity Broadcasting Network, and began carrying religious programming from the network.

Digital television[2]

This station's digital signal, like most other full-service TBN owned-and-operated stations, carries five different TBN-run networks.

TBN-owned full-power stations permanently ceased analog transmissions on April 16, 2009.

WBUY-TV discontinued regular programming on its analog signal, over UHF channel 40 on that date.[3] The station's digital signal remained on its pre-transition UHF channel 41, using PSIP to display WBUY-TV's virtual channel as 40 on digital television receivers.
