Vision International School

Vision International School is a private school located in Kandy, Sri Lanka. The school has classes from Montessori to Advanced level. The school is based on a local syllabus by the National Institute of Education. The school operates in a few sections as, Montessori - Grade 3, Grade 4 - Ordinary Level, and Advanced Level. It was founded in 1996 by a board of directors under the leadership of the managing director and principal, Muriel Subasinghe.
Location and structure
Vision International School is located on Peradeniya Road, Kandy, Sri Lanka. It is about 100 km (62 mi) from Colombo, approximately a three-hour drive. The school is categorised into junior section and senior section where classes from grade 1 to 3 are held in the junior section and classes above grade 4 are held on the senior section. Vision International School has its own auditorium hall, along with playing grounds for students extracurricular activities. Vision International School has produced chess and martial arts players as well.[citation needed]
Administration
The main administrative unit of the school is the board of directors. The managing director, who also holds the position of school principal, holds the responsibilities of administration and acts as the main decision-maker. The current managing director and the principal is Muriel Subasinghe. The vice principal plays a major role in carrying out administration in an active manner. The sectional heads operate under his guidance individually appointed to primary, secondary and advanced level sections. The class teachers are also involved in monitoring the students class-wise.
Apart from the staff members, the prefects guild and class monitors contribute to the administration procedure. The prefects guild is appointed every year, with two heads, two deputy heads, and a number of other prefects by the principal and vice principal.
