Thomas Jefferson High School is a secondary school located in the Southmoor Park neighborhood, on the southeast side of Denver, Colorado. Thomas Jefferson High School is operated under the Denver Public School system. The school teams are the Spartans. The school and its athletic fields are undergoing significant renovations, both of which were built in 1960.

The school is operated by Denver Public Schools. The school offers Advanced Placement classes in English, mathematics, science, social studies, and Spanish. The school also hosts a gifted program in various areas of study, such as their Computer Magnet Program, JROTC, and X-Track Courses.

Thomas Jefferson, additionally, has many programs for students that include a student-run newspaper, student-run news casting, yearbook assembled in-house, diversity club, National Honor Society, DECA, and more.

Demographics

Enrolled in the 2009-2010 school year were 1,078 students.

Using federal government guidelines, 42.39% of the students were eligible for free or reduced-price lunch.[2]
