The Tides was designed by Loewenberg Architects and developed by Magellan Development and was the second luxury rental tower completed at the Lakeshore East development, Chicago, USA.[2] The 51-story tower is located at 360 East South Water Street, East of the Chicago Loop.[3] The building was given an aquatic-themed name like the rest of the Lakeshore East developments, This theme is inspired by the surrounding Chicago River and Lake Michigan. The building is home to the private Shore Club, which continues the nautical theme.

Construction Quality Problems

The building was constructed using lower grade materials than those commonly found in luxury apartments in Chicago. As of 2011, the building has had PVC piping bursts 3 times flooding a number of apartments each time.[4]
