Sulekha.com is an Indian website which hosts classified ads, social networking, and other forms of user-generated content. It was founded by Satya Prabhakar and Sangeeta Kshettry. VentureBeat described it as "the merging of Facebook and Craigslist in India".[1]
History
Sulekha raised its initial investment from Indigo Monsoon Group when Param Parameswaran (as Chairman) and Harish Raghavan joined its Board. In 2006, Norwest Venture Partners (NVP) invested around $10 million in the company,[2] In 2009, Sulekha started charging customers, whereas previously they had relied on advertising to generate revenue.[3] In April 2015, GIC and NVP invested 175 Crore into the company.[4][5][6]
