St. Xavier's High School, Nerul (estd. 1985) is one of the first schools established in Nerul, Navi Mumbai, India. Despite its name, it never functioned as a convent school. It is situated in Plot No.11, Sector - 3, Phase 1, Nerul (East), Navi Mumbai. It is recognized by Government of Maharashtra and affiliated to Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education [i.e., S.S.C. and H.S.C.(Science)].
It provides education in three mediums of instruction:
- English medium.
- Marathi medium.
- Semi English.
Due to huge demand for college in city like Navi Mumbai, St. Xavier's High School started Junior College of Science in 2000. Now, it is known as St . Xavier's High School & Jr. College of Science
This school was the first school in Navi Mumbai to start NCC (National Cadet Corps) as well as NSS (National Social Services).
Notable Alumni
- Suma Shirur (nee Dixit), Indian national rifle shooting champion and Arjuna awardee. She belonged to the SSC batch of 1989, and was headgirl of afternoon section in 1986.
- Sachin Sinha, Vice-President at Orion Systems Integrators, LLC. He belonged to the SSC batch of 1990, and was school topper for that batch. He missed achieving the state SSC merit list in 1990 by a mere 6 marks. He subsequently went on to study at the D. G. Ruparel College and at the MGM College of Engineering.
- Dr. Vishal Sagar, MD, Nephrologist at Westfields Hospital, Wisconsin. He belonged to the SSC batch of 1989, and subsequently went on to study at the Fr. Agnel Multipurpose School and Junior College and the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune.
- Dr. Piyush S. Lohia, MD, Nephrologist with the Dallas Renal Group, Texas. He was school topper during the SSC batch of 1991, and subsequently went on to study at Somaiya College and D. Y. Patil Medical College.
- Dr. Shubhada Bharne, Ph. D., Biotechnologist and researcher in Oncology. She belonged to the SSC batch of 1990.
