The two campuses of Sri Sathya Sai Loka Seva Trust (SSSLST) are located at theSathya Sai Vihar(Alike), Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka state, India and in Muddenahalli in Chikkaballapur district of Karnataka state.
Sri Sathya Sai Baba was the sole trustee for both the trusts at Alike and at Muddenahalli.The day-to-day administration is managed by two different trusts,namely sri sathya sai loka seva trust alike and sri sathya sai Loka seva trust,Muddenahalli.These two trusts have a single Chair person and same board of trustees.But the regular activities are maintained by respective secretaries.
SSSLST was earlier known as Loka Seva Vrinda, until Sri Sathya Sai Baba formally took over the two campuses, through a deed registered at Muddenahalli in August 1978. This act was in response to the sincere prayers of Late Madiyal Narayan Bhat, the founder of Loka Seva Vrinda.He established an Institution firstly at Alike in 1960s' and then at Muddenahalli in June 1973.

Founder-Late Sri Madiyala Narayan Bhat
The founder of these institutions,Madiyala Narayan Bhat who is known as Rev.Anna among his followers was an educational visionary.He wanted to transform India and for that the field he chose was Education.He decided to dedicate his entire life for transforming children and decided not to marry as he believed that marriage will induce selfishness in man.He gathered a group of followers who accepted his vision and decided to follow his path.Then he established an institution named Loka seva vrinda.Later He also established a high school named 'Loka Seva High school'at his native village Alike.The school is now famously known to be 'Sri Sathya Sai Loka Seva high School'.After developing the institution and after establishing another school at muddenahalli of Karnataka,he decided to handover all his schools along with his hereditary property to Sathya Sai Baba,his spiritual guru.He trained his followers in such a way that,even after his death in 1979 because of a car accident,the institution grew exponentially under sathya sai baba and now is at its heights.
Chidren of Sathya Sai-an alumni initiative
The Children of Sathya Sai Baba Foundation from the nearby Muddenahalli-Sathya Sai Loka Seva School have adopted several surrounding villages to promote access to clean water, sanitation, schooling, and employment of the villagers, many come from underprivileged backgrounds. A new temple, large community hall, school, sanitation and irrigation system, healthcare facilities, park, and spacious homes are being constructed.
Main activities undertaken by the Children of Sathya Sai
- Taking active part in any Educational, Spiritual and Service activities undertaken to transform the nine adopted villages into Ideal Villages
- To impart spiritual upliftment of the destitute and lower castes.
- To plan and implement programs for the all round development of the nine villages in co-ordination with the Alma mater, 'Sri Satya Sai Loka Seva Institutions – Sathya Sai Grama'
- Providing daily midday-meal to all the day scholars
- Construction or renovation of temple community halls in the nine surrounding villages
- Appointment of one teacher in each of the eight villages to improve the educational standard and health awareness combined with spiritual and moral values in children
- Supporting the Anganawadies in the nine villages with equipments and gadgets in their playgrounds providing any other assistance required
- Conducting Narayana Seva in nine villages on the day of annual meet
- De-vermination tablets are given to the residents of all the nine villages. De-vermination helps prevention of many diseases
- Honouring the CET Rank Holders and the toppers of SSLC and PUC examination in Sri Sathya Sai Loka Seva Institutions
- Providing any material and equipment required by the villages through the 'president's fund' to the tune of Rupees One Lakh per annum
- Helping the villagers in constructing toilets in the houses and improving general sanitation of the nine villages
- Building character of the rural youth through various activities
- To increase equality between genders and reduce and eliminate the horrific incidence of female abortion and infanticide to promote a pro-life ethic.
These activities are under taken as an initiative by the alumni of the 2 institutions for the social cause following the high principles set up by Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba and Late Sri Madiyala Narayan Bhat.
