History
The under-23 football team was formed to represent Singapore in the Southeast Asian Games since 2001.
2013-present
In 2013, former Singapore national football team caretaker head coach V Sundramoorthy was appointed as the head coach of the Singapore national under-23 football team with Aide Iskandar as his assistant coach. The duo were tasked with preparing the squad for the upcoming 2013 SEA Games which will take place in end 2013 at Naypidaw, Myanmar.[1]
However, with the resignation of V. Sundramoorthy a few months later, Aide took over the reins of the Singapore national under-23 football team in October 2013.[2] He guided the team to a third placing at the 2013 Southeast Asian Games.
In the 2015 Southeast Asian Games, the under-23 football team has failed to advance into the semi-finals.[3] Aide then consequently resigned as coach of the national under-23 football team.[4]
