Sid Rainey (born in 1968 in Sligo, Ireland) is an Irish musician and television producer.

Compulsion

Rainey first came to prominence as the bass player for Irish punk band Compulsion in 1990.

Television production

Rainey formed a television production company with award-winning film director, John Deery, called Joella Productions (after Deery's son, Joe, and Rainey's daughter, Ella). Rainey had appeared in an acting role in Deery's 2003 film Conspiracy of Silence.

The company created and produced a popular computer-animated children's series, Underground Ernie, about a group of talking trains and their human colleagues, Ernie, Millie and Mr Rails. Underground Ernie was first shown on CBeebies and BBC2 in 2006 and has quickly become a popular hit. http://www.undergroundernie.com/
