S. S. Held (full name Serge Simon Held) was a French science fiction and fantasy author known for the disaster novel The Death of Iron, which imagines a disease destroying everything made of iron or steel. In 1932 it was serialized in Hugo Gernsback's Wonder Stories. The original French title was La mort du fer (Paris: A Fayard & cie, [1931]).
