Quingestanol acetate (INN, USAN) (brand names Demovis, Pilomin), also known as 3-cyclopentyl norethisterone acetate[1] or as noretynodrel acetate 3-cyclopentyl ether,[2] is a steroidal progestin with some androgenic activity which is used as an oral, once-a-month or postcoital hormonal contraceptive.[3][4][5][6] Its mechanism of action is inhibition of the ovulation and, secondarly, suppression of the endometrium which may affect implantation.,[1][2]
