Pole Position Raceway is a chain of indoor karting facilities located in the United States. According to their website, the company plans to operate dozens of future locations "within the next decade". As of March 2014 fourteen locations are being maintained,[1] with one to be opened in the New York-Jersey City area by the end of November 2010 and another to be opened at an unknown location by the end of the year.[2] The company is franchised by P2R Karting, Inc.[3]

History

Pole Position Raceway was founded in September 2005 by three-time land speed racer Ken Faught and former pro motocrosser Jason Williams, who opened the company's first 53,000-square-foot (4,900 m2) building near the 15/91 freeway junction in Southern California. It features a European-style road course and 55 of the fastest rental karts.[4]

The company's first East Coast facility was opened in Jersey City, New Jersey, at 99 Caven Point, near Liberty State Park. It features two quarter-mile tracks and karts that can achieve speeds of up to 45 mph (72 km/h).[5]
