OxiClean
OxiClean (founded September 20, 1999) is the brand name for a line of household cleaners, including 'OxiClean Versatile Stain Remover', which is a laundry additive, spot stain remover, and household cleaner marketed by Church & Dwight.[1][2] It was owned by Orange Glo International until 2006.
History
When it was introduced, it was marketed through infomercials in the U.S. and Canada with Billy Mays, as a "miracle cleanser".[3] Church and Dwight acquired the OxiClean brand through its acquisition of Orange Glo International in 2006. It was endorsed by Mays until his death in 2009, the product is now seen endorsed by Billy's friend & co-worker Anthony Sullivan. Mays and Sullivan were featured on the show Pitchmen on the Discovery Channel in which the product was featured on several occasions.
OxiClean was developed by OCI Company Ltd., in South Korea. One of the active ingredients in OxiClean is sodium percarbonate (Na2CO3•H2O2), an adduct of sodium carbonate (Na2CO3) and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2).[3]
