Otte made a remarkable run at the 2017 Qingdao Challenger, where he reached the final both in the singles (as a qualifier) and the doubles tournament.[1]

Otte won his first ATP Challenger Tour doubles title at the 2017 Garden Open in Rome, partnering Andreas Mies.
