Marterer has a career high ATP singles ranking of world No. 237, achieved in October 2015, and a career high ATP doubles ranking of No. 298, achieved in September 2015.[1] Marterer has won 1 Challenger doubles title, 5 ITF singles titles and 5 ITF doubles titles.[2]

Marterer made his ATP main draw debut at the 2015 MercedesCup where he was given a wildcard into the singles event.
