Maxim Zimin (Russian: Максим Зимин, born 28 April 1994 in Barnaul) is a Russian auto racing driver.

Career

Zimin started karting in 2001 and won the Russian and Moscow Cups in 2005. In 2008 he won the Viking Trophy in Finland racing for Maranello Karts, which qualified him to receive his trophy during the FIA Champions Gala at Monaco. In 2010 Zimin is competing in both Italian Formula ACI-CSAI Abarth and Formula Renault 2.0 MEC for Jenzer Motorsport. He raced a part season in the Formula Renault 2.0 MEC championship claiming two podiums and one fastest lap. At the end of the season he was classified 5th overall. In the newly relaunched Formula ACI-CSAI Abarth championship Maxim Zimin impressed on his debut by taking a podium in the feature race, while in the sprint race he took the fastest lap. He scored further 4 podiums until the end of the season, all in feature races. His first career pole-position arrived at Vallelunga. He was in title battle until the last round of the championship, but at the end of the season he was classified 5th overall.

In 2011 Zimin will continue his association with Jenzer Motorsport by contesting the GP3 Series as teammate to Nico Muller. Maxim Zimin also signed to be part of the Nasha Formula driver development program with Gazprombank and Cordiant tires as the prime backers.
