Keon Darell Broxton (born May 7, 1990) is an American professional baseball outfielder for the Milwaukee Brewers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He previously played for the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Career

Broxton was originally drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies out of Lakeland Senior High School in the 29th round of the 2008 MLB Draft. He did not sign and attended Santa Fe Community College in Gainsville, Florida to play baseball. Broxton was then drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the third round of the 2009 MLB draft.[1] He was added to the team's 40-man roster on November 20, 2012. He was traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates in March 2014.[2] Broxton was called up by the Pirates on September 20, 2015.[3] Broxton was used mainly as a pinch runner, going 0-for-2 at the plate, as well as 1 stolen base and 3 runs scored.[4]

On December 17, 2015, the Pirates traded Broxton and Trey Supak to the Milwaukee Brewers for Jason Rogers.[5] Broxton was one of nine players competing to be the Brewers center fielder for the 2016 season.[6] He won the competition and started on Opening Day.[7]
