KLAK (97.5 FM) is a radio station licensed to Tom Bean, Texas; mainly serving the North Texas/Southern Oklahoma region (popularly known as Texoma). The station broadcasts an Adult Contemporary format with some Classic Hits content.

History

KLAK started broadcasting on the 104.9 FM frequency on August 14, 1984, licensed to Denison, Texas. It moved to its present 97.5 FM frequency on May 12, 1987.

The call letters (which, unlike many stations, have not changed since the initial broadcast) are a reference to nearby Lake Texoma.

KLAK is the sister station to KMKT-FM 93.1 (Katy Country) and KMAD-FM 102.5 (Mad Rock 102.5); both based in Sherman, TX.

The KLAK studios, production facilities and business offices are located in the First United Bank Building at 1700 Redbud Blvd in McKinney, TX. The 50KW transmitter and 659' antenna/tower are located approximately 4 miles south-south-east of Tom Bean, TX: [1].

The KLAK audio stream is also available on HD Radio[1] and the Internet at [2].
