Julia Baird is an Australian political journalist, television commentator and newspaper columnist from Sydney. Julia started her journalistic career with The Sydney Morning Herald in 1998. She has written extensively about gender and politics, covering for example misogyny in Australian politics[1] and transgender soldiers in the American military.[2] More recently she has written about Donald Trump's political strategy.[3] Baird has also written about religious topics, commenting for example on the role of women within the Anglican Diocese of Sydney.[4] She currently hosts the The Drum, an Australian current affairs television show.[5]
Baird has a Ph.D in history from the University of Sydney and has two children.[6]
