IQ Aurigae is a variable star in the northern constellation of Auriga. The spectrum displays the characteristics of a peculiar star; in this instance a strong line of singly ionized silicon. For this reason it is known as a silicon star. It may also be helium deficient as the lines of helium are weaker than expected.[6]
