Gerhard Kroll (20 August 1910 – 10 November 1963) was a German politician of the CSU.

Biography

Gerhard Kroll was born in Breslau. In 1945, Kroll was a co-founder of the CSU in Bamberg. He co-authored the CSU's "Bamberg Memorandum" in 1946. From 1946 to 1948, Kroll was chief administrator in the district of Staffelstein. From 1946 to 1950, Kroll also sat in the Landtag of Bavaria. In 1948/1949, he was a member of the Parliamentary Council and campaigned vehemently, but unsuccessfully, for the introduction of single-member plurality voting. From 1949 to 1951, Kroll was director of the Institute for the Study of National Socialism (now the Institute of Contemporary History). From 1951, he was also editor of the journal Neues Abendland, and in 1951 he co-founded Western action and the Western Academy.

He died in Jerusalem.
