Gareth Gwenlan OBE (26 April 1937 – 8 May 2016)[1] was a Welsh television producer and director, best known for his work on shows such as The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin, To the Manor Born, Only Fools and Horses, and High Hopes. In 1983 he was appointed Head of Comedy for BBC Wales, a position he held until 1990.
Gwenlan was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2013 Birthday Honours for services to broadcasting.[2]
Personal life
Gwenlan read English at King's College London.[3] He was married three times and had two children.[4] He died on 9 May 2016 in Herefordshire, England, aged 79.[1]
