In the Dungeons & Dragons fantasy role-playing game, the garbug is a type of aberration.

Publication history

The black garbug and violet garbug first appeared in the original first edition Fiend Folio (1981).[1]

The black garbug and violet garbug appeared in the second edition in the Monstrous Compendium Fiend Folio Appendix (1992),[2] and was reprinted in Monstrous Compendium Annual Volume One (1994).[3]

Description

A garbug resembles a lobster, of either black or violet color, and has six tentacles around its mouth and a pair of insectile wings. The male garbug has a long proboscis and a glossy black exoskeleton, and the female garbug is a uniform violet of striking hue with the exception of her dark yellow set of strong claws on her topmost pair of limbs.
