Epsom Athletic F.C. is an English football club based in Chessington. The club is a member of Division One of the Combined Counties League and play at Chalky Lane in Chessington. The club is affiliated to the Surrey FA.

History

The club was established in 1997 by Paul Burstow and joined the Sutton & District League. They finished as runners-up in Division Two in 1999–2000 and were promoted.[1] The following year finished as runners-up in Division One, earning a second straight promotion.[1] The club then won the Premier Division at the first attempt.[1] After switching to the Surrey South Eastern Combination, they finished as runners-up in Division Two in 2003–04 season, and were promoted to Division One. In 2006–07 they finished as runners up in Division One. In 2010–11 they finished as runners-up in the Surrey Elite Intermediate League, and won the league the following season,[2] earning promotion to Division One of the Combined Counties League.

In the club's first season in the Combined Counties League (2012–13), they finished ninth whilst also playing their first ever FA Vase game, losing 3–4 at home to Camberley Town. The club's second year was a better season overall, finishing three places higher and advancing through to the First Round Proper of the Vase, losing 1–0 away to Crowborough Athletic. The club also played in its first ever FA Cup game, losing 1–3 at home to Croydon, in front of the second largest crowd in the club's history. The club's third successive season in the Division was its worst league standing, finishing fifteenth but just two points behind the team above. Despite their league form, the Club reached the semi-final of the Division One Challenge Cup, losing 5–2 away to Worcester Park. The FA competitions bought mixed results, losing 2–5 to Littlehampton Town in the FA Cup which saw a club record attendance of 145; the club also reached the Second Round Qualifying of the FA Vase losing away to Raynes Park Vale.
