Eddie Paea (born 8 February 1988 in Sydney, New South Wales) is an Australian professional rugby league player for the North Sydney Bears in the New South Wales Cup competition. He primarily plays at halfback or Hooker. He previously played for the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
Career
Paea played for the North Sydney Bears in the NSWRL Premier League, the reserve team for the Rabbitohs.[1]
Paea made his NRL debut in round 26 of the 2006 season for the Rabbitohs against the Wests Tigers. He began the 2008 season as halfback for the Rabbitohs but a contract offer was withdrawn mid-season and he was dropped from the first grade team.[2]
A Junior Kiwi,[3] Paea was named in both the Tonga training squad for the 2008 Rugby League World Cup and the New Zealand training squad,[4][5] but he was finally selected for the Tonga squad in October.[6] Paea scored his first senior international try in the World Cup match against Scotland on 8 November 2008. He also converted one try.[7]
