Devhara is a census town in Shahdol district in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India. Devhara is also biggest gram panchayat in anuppur district. It is completely surrounded by coal mines. In Devhara there are many industrial plants like navbharat and dainik bhaskar which produce large quantity of dynamite. Devhara has large number of Brahmins family and some tribes like Baiga, Bhariya. Devhara contains Madhavnagar (the Basti), sanjay koyla nagar(colony), indra nagar, and geetagram.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census,[1] Devhara had a population of 17,827. Males constitute 54% of the population and females 46%. Devhara has an average literacy rate of 78%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 76% and, female literacy is 69%. In Devhara, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.
