The quote
Lynch is known for his memorable remark before the 1984 Apple Cup against the rival Washington Huskies, "There are four important stages in your life. You're born, you play the Huskies, you get married and you die."[3][4][5][6]
Professional career
He was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the National Football League in the twelfth round of the 1985 NFL Draft. During the pre-season camp he suffered from Addison's disease, which saw his weight drop from 270 pounds to 170 pounds.[7] While he played in the pre-season, he never actually played in a regular season NFL game.[8]
Due to his illness he retired from football and subsequently completed a MBA at the Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley and moved to work in Central Europe and now resides in Prague, Czech Republic.[7]
