Butlersbridge (Irish: Droichead an Bhuitléaraigh) is a picturesque village in County Cavan in Ireland, 5 km (3.1 mi) north of Cavan Town just off the N3 National primary road. It was well known as point on the N3 but it was bypassed in 1999. The bridge in the village crosses the River Annalee, a tributary of the River Erne. A church dedicated to the local St. Aiden is located in the town. It is approximately 8 mins drive or 9.0 km via the N54 to the border with Northern Ireland.

In the 2002 Census a population of 182 was recorded for Butlersbridge.

Transport

Rail

The former GNR line from Cavan to Clones passed to the south of the village and the Trackbed can still be seen. However there was never a station in Butlersbridge.

Bus

Bus Éireann Expressway Route 30 (Donegal-Enniskillen-Cavan-Dublin Airport-Dublin), jointly operated with McGeehan Coaches, serves Butlersbridge.[1] Leydons Coaches route 930 (Enniskillen-Swanlinbar-Ballyconnell-Belturbet-Cavan) also serves Butlersbridge. [2] The stops are located on the N3 Bypass.
