Burrumbuttock /ˈbʌrəmbʌtək/ is a town in the central southern part of the Riverina region of the Australian state of New South Wales. The town is about 16 kilometres (9.9 mi) south east of Walbundrie and 34 kilometres (21 mi) north-west of Albury.
Its name comes from the parish name and "T.P Gibson's estate".[2]
History
Burrumbuttock Post Office opened on 1 May 1883.[3]

The town is affectionately known by its inhabitants as Burrum, with attractions ranging from a visit to the Wirraminna community environmental education centre, pulling back a beer at the Farmers Inn Hotel, and a trip to the historic Burrum Hall. The publican of Burrum is Mardi Klein.
The community is well alive with a rich sporting culture. The Burrumbuttock Tennis and Cricket Clubs are essential to the life of the inhabitants. The football and netball club has recently merged with neighbouring town Brocklesby and remains the premier sporting association in the wider Burrumbuttock area. The Brocklesby-Burrumbuttock under seventeens team won the Hume Football League grand final of 2011 against Howlong. The senior team won the 2013 premiership after finishing on top of the home and away ladder. Darryn McKimmie lead the team and was the first coach in 3 decades to taste the success of being a premiership for both Brocklesby and Burrumbuttock. Both towns have recently named their 'Favourite Sons and Daughters', with some of the names currently playing being Mitchell Koschitzke (first successful premiership captain ((under 17s)), Brad Scott, Sam O'Connor, Kate Taylor, Luke and Sam Schilg, Chris, Joe and Ronnie Boulton.
