Bassiana is a genus of skinks (family Scincidae). It belongs to the Eugongylus group; the genus Oligosoma appears to be a fairly close relative.[1] An alternative name is Acritoscincus. For similar skinks see genera Pseudemoia, Lampropholis, and Niveoscincus.
