Alberto Jiménez Monteagudo (born 27 September 1974) is a retired Spanish footballer who played as a midfielder, and current manager of FC Cartagena.

Football career

Born in Valdeganga, Province of Albacete, Monteagudo began his career at Albacete Balompié. Over two seasons in La Liga, he totalled ten games for the team. After leaving the Estadio Carlos Belmonte for CE L'Hospitalet in 1996, he never returned to the top flight, becoming a journeyman until his retirement at Segunda División B's Lucena CF in 2009.

He subsequently became a manager, starting at Lucena. After spells at Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa and Real Burgos CF, he was hired by CD Badajoz on 10 April 2012.[1]

On 18 July 2012, he was hired by fellow league team Cádiz CF.[2] He was sacked on 19 November after gaining 16 points from the first 13 games of the season.[3]

He was hired by La Roda CF of the same division for the 2013–14 season. He was sacked on 25 March 2014 after winning only 8 of 31 matches.[4]

On 3 February 2016, he was hired at third-tier FC Cartagena.[5]
