The 2013 season was the 99th in Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras existence. Was the second time in history that Palmeiras played in the second division of the Campeonato Brasileiro. Palmeiras competed in the state league, Campeonato Paulista, the continental cup, the Copa Libertadores and Copa do Brasil.

- January 21, 2013: General Elections For President And Vice President. Paulo Nobre was elected, winning Decio Perin by 153 votes against 106.[3]
- January 24, 2013: After great speculation, the Argentine Riquelme, will not come to Palmeiras. Paulo Nobre, the new president said that Palmeiras has no money.[4]
- February 5, 2013: Two more players were announced, the defender Marcelo Oliveira and the midfielder Charles, the two coming from the Cruzeiro.[5] In exchange Palmeiras sent Luan.[6]
- February 7, 2013: One more player was announced, the forward Kléber coming from a loan from the Portuguese side Porto until the end of the year.[7]
- February 8, 2013: Hernán Barcos signs with the Grêmio. Palmeiras had a debt with the LDU (US$ 750,000) the Grêmio assumes this debt. In return Palmeiras will receive four players: Vilson, Rondinelly, Léo Gago and Leandro coming from a loan.[8]
- February 22, 2013: Palmeiras announced the agreement with Kia Motors will end at the end of the Campeonato Paulista.[9]
- March 27, 2013: Palmeiras suffers a humiliating defeat, a 6–2 for the Mirassol what has generated outrage of fans who went to the club headquarters to protest for better results.[10]
- April 4, 2013: Leandro was called up by Felipão for Brazil national football team to play the friendly against Bolivia.[11] He scored in his debut, the game ended 3–1 for Brazil, Leandro scored the last goal.[12]
- April 16, 2013: Both Leandro and Henrique were called up for Brazil national football team to play a friendly game against Chile on Abril 24.[13]
- April 18, 2013: Even losing the last match of the group stage of the 2013 Libertadores, the Palmeiras qualifies in first place to the round of 16.[14]
- April 24, 2013: WTorre (responsible for construction of Allianz Parque) announced the sale of "naming rights" to Allianz, a German company and the world's largest in this segment.[15]
- June 6, 2013: Palmeiras closes sponsorship with Allianz for two games of Série B, first against Sport Recife in June 8, and the second against América de Natal in June 11.[16]
- June 7, 2013: Palmeiras signs her first international player of the year, the Paraguyan William Mendieta coming from Club Libertad.[17]
- June 5, 2013: The midfielder Sebastián Eguren signs contract until December 2014. Eguren defended the Uruguay national team in the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup.[18]
- August 21, 2013: The defender Henrique was called up by coach Felipão to compete in two friendly matches against Australia in September 7, and Portugal in September 10.[19]
- October 26, 2013: After a 0–0 draw against São Caetano, Palmeiras secures his spot in the 2014 Série A.[20]
- November 26, 2013: After some speculation coach Gilson Kleina contract renewed for one more year.[21][22]

The Campeonato Paulista is the major championship of São Paulo state, involving teams all over the state. Palmeiras will debut on the competition on the January 20, vs. Bragantino. The last time it Palmeiras won the competition is on the 2008.
