The 1997 Brownlow Medal was awarded to Robert Harvey from the St Kilda Football Club for being the best and fairest player during the 1997 Australian Football League home and away season. Despite polling more votes than Harvey, Chris Grant of the Western Bulldogs was ineligible due to suspension.
