Dinubhai "Dinu" Boghabhai Solanki (born 1958),[1] is a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) politician from Junagadh, Gujarat, India.

Solanki won the Gujarat Legislative assembly seat from Kodinar in 2002 with a margin of 2000 votes,[2] and in 2009 was elected to the 15th Lok Sabha after defeating his Indian National Congress rival Barad Jashubhai Dhanabhai by a margin of 1.8%.[3] He had declared assets of nearly Rs. 20 million in 2009[4] He has a history of criminal charges and has complaints registered against him under Sections 323, 324, 325, 143, 147, 148, 149 and 504 of the IPC[5] He also has a history of intimidating police officers investigating his criminal connections.[6]

He is having transport business with Ambuja Cements Ltd and many other business associated with Ambuja Cements Ltd. He is said to be a close colleague of the BJP minister Amit Shah.[7]

According to sources, Solanki controls local marketing yard, sugar co-operatives, co-operative banks, Kodinar municipality and other important bodies. The former MP is accused in murder of RTI activist Amit Jethwa. He is out on bail and is making efforts to maintain his political supremacy in coastal villages of Kodinar since the BJP has side-lined him. After Solanki's supporters decided to contest as independent candidates, BJP suspended five of his supporters from the party for six years.[8]
