Rahila Durrani

Rahila Hameed Khan Durrani has served as the Speaker of the Provincial Assembly of Balochistan, since 24 December 2015. She is the first woman to hold the position.[1]

Durrani is a lawyer by profession.[1]

Early life

Rahila Hameed Khan Durrani was born in Quetta. She received her M.A and L.L.B from University of Balochistan. She also has a Certificate in Leadership, Environment and Sustainable Development.[2]

She is in her third term in office, having served in the Provincial Assembly from 2002 to 2008, 2008 to 2013, and since 2013. She became Balochistan's Minister for Prosecution in her second term, a position she retains as Speaker.[3]

She is affiliated with the Pakistan Muslim League (N) party.[1]
