On May 26, 2016 it was reported in several newspapers in Israel that Shellanoo Group and PIR Equities both companies led by Kobo are in advanced discussions to purchase Golan Telecom.[23] In previous weeks Cellcom Israel's largest telecom operator led a failed attempt to purchase Golan for ₪1.17B ILS.
