Lewis Armstrong "Lew" Yeager,[1] first name sometimes spelled Louis, was the seventh head college football coach for the West Virginia University Mountaineers located in Morgantown, West Virginia and he held that position for three seasons, from 1899 until 1902. [2] His coaching record at West Virginia was 12 wins, 9 losses, and 0 ties. As of the conclusion of the 2007 season, this ranks him 17th at West Virginia in total wins and 19th at West Virginia in winning percentage (0.571). [3]

He died suddenly in 1906 of heart disease.[4] He is interred at Oak Grove Cemetery in Morgantown.[5]
